Mansong-ri Beach

August 10-11, 2000

On our way from Seoul to my friend's sister's family in Sunch'on, we stopped at Mansong-ri Beach outside the city of Yosu on the southern Korean coast.
We were lucky to get a hotel room with a spectacular view overlooking the beach.  As beaches go, it may not rival Hawaii, Thailand, or even Okinawa, but it was a good way to get a break from the August heat and see how Koreans enjoy the seaside.  Here are some of the pictures I took from the hotel room.

An afternoon view of the beach. A woman drying chili peppers (the main ingredient in kimchi) in the sun on her roof. My reward for rising early, a beautiful sunrise as viewed from my hotel room.
