Taroko National Park, on Taiwan's central east coast, is one of the country's most beautiful spots.  It features a marble gorge with a whitewater river flowing through it.  Throughout the park are towering cliffs, hiking trails, and a temple and pagoda overlooking the gorge.

These photos show the rugged beauty of the Taroko Gorge.  I think it rivals the Grand Canyon.
