Hualien
May 1-3, 2002

Hualien is the largest city on Taiwan's east coast.  It's a picturesque town, and its slow pace was a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of Taipei.  And I had some of the best dumplings I have ever tasted at a restaurant in the night market.  For the tourist, Hualien's main attraction is its close proximity to the  Taroko Gorge National Park.
